Score Edit and Message Popups

4/21/2026
Today's update brings a couple new features and a bunch of bug fixes.

First, admins can now edit the game, score, and name of scores before approving them. We've all probably had dingdongs submit scores with typos, or for the wrong game. Now it can be easily fixed!

Second, you can now send a popup message to all currently-running instances of your leaderboard, for example if you want to make an announcement:

Other improvements that have made their way into production since the last update include:
  • Added the ability to reload all currently-running leaderboards. This function can be found in the Admin tab, under "Gameroom Controls".
  • The Score Approval table on the Admin tab of the Settings screen now updates automatically when new scores are submitted.
  • The banner can now automatically display the name of the currently-running event (if that option is selected in the Competition tab).
  • All currently-displayed Leaderboards will now automatically update themselves to reflect changes when made through the settings screen on other devices -- for example, when games are deleted, hidden/unhidden, locked/unlocked, and when Competition Events are started or stopped, your currently-running leaderboards will automatically reload themselves to reflect those changes.
  • Fixed an issue where the "max" parameter was not being respected when getting game scores via the API.
  • Fixed an issue with confetti alerts not showing up when a game was on another page of the gameroom.
  • Fixed an issue entering scores on mobile devices for games that are currently set to "hidden".

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or issues! You can reach me at pezpunk@iScored.info.

iScored Demo

Here is a typical iScored game room (this one is for the current high scores for the Monday Night League at CarPool Bar in Arlington, Virginia -- stop by some time!)

This gameroom is operating in "Public Mode", meaning you can view scores, and you can tap on names to see a list of all the high scores for that person, but you cannot enter new scores or modify existing ones.

The screen automatically scrolls side to side if you don't do anything for a few seconds.

You can make it full-screen by hitting F11 on a Mac or PC (or using the fullscreen button on your browser). By the way, there are easy ways to launch it in fullscreen mode automatically, and it's designed to be touchscreen-compatible, if you're thinking of setting it up as a kiosk in your game room.
